About us & what we do

Formed in Berlin in 2014, we are dedicated to rediscovering and performing the veritable mine of over five hundred works written for string trio which, though boasting some of the greatest masterpieces, has many works which are sadly neglected and unknown to the public. In doing so, the endeavour to continually develop an honest, original and unified perception across all musical genres will be inevitable.
This particular formation of Violin-Viola-Cello is also one that is not thoroughly investigated or maintained as most of the more popular chamber music constellations, and certainly presents some challenges i.e. the missing inner-voice. Our goal is to produce a colour that is unique to us, and to find the unity and wholeness found in a string quartet- with just three stringed instruments!
Appreciation to all to our present and past chamber music mentors: Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet); Hatto Beyerle, Guentler Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet); Natascha Prischepenko (Artemis Quartet) and ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) teachers Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartet) and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
